Matt Allgood completed a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, from the University of Georgia in 2005, and then a Bachelor of Science in 2011. Matt attended Augusta University (previously the Medical College of Georgia) and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016. He also completed a postdoctoral residency and received his certification as an Orthopedic Specialist in 2017. Matt has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting since 2016, focusing on research-based treatment methods, including manual therapy and dry needling for effective and efficient treatments encouraging optimal outcomes. Matt specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal pathologies, post-op rehab, and sports related injuries. His physical therapy journey was originally inspired by his time as a patient at OPT in 2008.
Matt, whose family has been in the Athens area for four generations, grew up in Oconee County and now lives in Athens with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys spending time with all of his girls, including their dog, Dolly. Matt enjoys playing golf, watching sports, cooking, exploring great restaurants, and traveling whenever possible.
